Stitching News

Our Sheila has been making up cushion fronts... She had to pop over to my very own shop to purchase cushion zips so she could make up the backs... Did you know that my cushion zips, all 22", are only 30p!! We cover them with a folded strip of co-ordinating fabric for a professional finish... with my super easy method. Tutorial coming soon!

Margaret came shopping for a perfect border fabric for this amazing quilt centre... my goodness this is an intricate design... each block has so many tricky seams... all those tiny curves too! It's a pattern for hand piecing but Margaret did it all by machine... wow!

Angela had booked a slot on Sandwich Saturday to pin and prepare her 78 inch square quilt... WOW!!! those little X-blocks are only 4" finished... all the applique done beautifully by hand... The quilting will be done by hand too and I couldn't help twisting Angela's arm right up high on her back... We will see this quilt finished at Uttoxeter Quilt Show 2018!!! You heard it hear first...
Angela.... It's here in writing now! ha ha ha
We had two lovely ladies for the Beginner Cushion Workshop. They had a great day with Carol, learning good basic skills, including Rotary cutting basics, scant quarter inch, straight stitching for seams and top tips on pressing... amongst other skills and the wonders of that fabulous zip installation method I was telling you about...
